What are the best shoes to wear in a Zumba® class?
Zumba® Fitness recommends that you wear "cross training" or "aerobic" style shoes. They provide the cushion and medial lateral support needed for side-to-side movements. They also have low traction rubber for easy sliding and turning. Please be careful with "running shoes" since they use a heavy tread on the bottom and are designed for forward movement.
How many calories can I burn during a Zumba class?
The number of calories each person burns per class varies. Depending on your body parameters; height, weight, composition, as well as your intensity and range of motion you can burn hundreds of calories per class. We have had people record a range of 350 - 1200 calories in a one hour class.
Do you offer a beginners class?
All of our classes are formatted in a way that uses basic dance steps set to pulsating beats creating an easy to follow class that typically eliminates the need for a beginners class. Any one of any age, fitness level, or experience background can participate in any class. You don't have to know how to dance to enjoy any of our classes!
Is Studio Tropa right for me?
Yes. The contagious music used in our classes fuses everyone. We typically have people of all ages, ranging from 18 - 70 with different fitness goals at different levels of health from all types of cultural backgrounds with varying needs and desires in our classes. We offer a place for anyone and everyone to enjoy Zumba®, cardio and getting into Sexy Shape!
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing that you would wear to the gym or for physical activity and comfortable athletic shoes with a good arch support as described above. You will get sweaty!
When can I start?
TODAY! Just come on in to any of the classes that we have on our schedule any time you are ready.
Do I have to make an appointment?
No. If it's your first time, simply show up about 10 to 15 minutes before class so that we can have a chance to meet you, introduce ourselves and the studio to you.
